Global report on adult learning and education (GRALE)
Monitoring progress
Since 2009, the UNESCO Institute for Lifelong Learning has been publishing a regular Global Report on Adult Learning and Education (GRALE). The report provides a comprehensive update on the current state of and progress being made in ALE worldwide, and draws on two key UNESCO documents on adult education: the Belém Framework for Action and the 2015 Recommendation on Adult Learning and Education.
The report combines survey data, policy analysis and case studies to provide policy-makers and practitioners with sound recommendations and examples of good practice. It presents strong evidence on how adult education and learning can help countries address current and future challenges, and progress towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
