Within the framework of its longstanding partnership with the Association for the Development of Education in Africa (ADEA), the UNESCO Institute for Lifelong Learning (UIL) is pleased to participate in the forthcoming ADEA 2017 Triennale on Education and Training in Africa. This high-profile event will bring together a significant number of stakeholders, including African heads of state, ministers of education and training, and senior representatives of bilateral and multilateral agencies, civil society, the private sector and academia. Participants will gather in Dakar, Senegal, for policy dialogues on the development of a comprehensive long-term education plan of action, which Africa must abide by in order to achieve the goals stated in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and Africa’s Agenda 2063.
UIL will contribute its expertise to topics and study papers, including:
- the strategic approach to promoting lifelong learning for all in selected African countries (Ethiopia, Kenya, Namibia, Rwanda and United Republic of Tanzania);
- Action Research on Measuring Literacy Programme Participants’ Learning Outcomes (RAMAA - Recherche Action: Mesure des apprentissages des bénéficiaires des programmes d’alphabétisation) in Burkina Faso, Mali, Niger and Senegal;
- the third Global Report on Adult Learning and Education (GRALE III);
- the Global Alliance for Literacy within the framework of lifelong learning (GAL);
- Family Literacy.
The event is co-organized by ADEA under the patronage of His Excellency Macky Sall, President of Senegal and Lead Champion for the Committee of Ten Champion Heads of State on Education, Science and Technology.
