El Día Internacional de la Alfabetización 2010 hizo hincapié en las mujeres, que representan dos tercios de los 796 millones de adultos analfabetos del mundo. El tema “Alfabetización y autonomía de la mujer” apunta hacia el efecto transformador que puede tener la alfabetización en la vida de las mujeres y de sus familias, comunidades y sociedades.
