Mandates
Questscope is a non-profit, non-governmental organization committed to holistic development of vulnerable youth in communities across the Middle East and North Africa. Together with local and national partners, Questscope provides life-changing personal attention to "at-risk" youth-caught in cycles of poverty, abuse and neglect-resulting in personal growth and spiritual development, restoration to education and social responsibility, and building entrepreneurship.
Policy Issues
Restoring lives of "at-risk" youth through mentoring relationship and positive role models, linked with access to professional assistance and pathways to achieve educational and vocational goals, enriching communities by strengthening the capacity of neighborhoods and local institutions to take on the primary role in improving the lives of those most vulnerable in their community, and engage leaders by building relationships for cooperation in social and political ways- in both policy and practice- at local, national and international levels.
Policy Outcomes
In partnership with Ministry of Education, Questscope created Non-Formal Education Programme for dropout children of ages (13-18), and developed the curricula and the training Manual for teachers focusing on changing the role of teachers from conventional to facilitators, the MoE certified this programme which is a major policy change. Conducting an impact study measuring the impact of the Mentoring program (Street Education) on at risk children. The study measured children's cognitive abilities addition to others aspects.
