Report: Urban Solutions: Learning from cities’ responses to COVID-19’

The multidimensional nature of the COVID-19 pandemic has left an indelible mark on the world’s cities, raising fundamental questions about sustainable social, cultural, economic, and environmental urban development.

In an attempt to answer some of these questions, the UNESCO Cities Platform (UCP) hosted an online event on 25 June 2020 during which mayors, local policy-makers, professionals and practitioners, NGOs and international institutions presented strategies for mitigating the impact of the COVID-19 crisis and building the sustainable and resilient cities of tomorrow. The UNESCO Global Network of Learning Cities (GNLC), coordinated by the UNESCO Institute for Lifelong Learning, was represented by three cities: Swansea (United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland), Manizales (Colombia), and Wuhan (People’s Republic of China)
